What is acne?

Acne is a skin infection associated with sebum retention causing comedones or microkystes. The first symptoms of acne occur during puberty and may even extend into the twenties and reappear in the adulthood. People with oily skin are more suceptible to the condition. It begins with the overproduction of oil by the sebaceous glands. Bacteria play an important role in acne, causing infection and pimples. The outcome of this fight is a scar, like a little remnants of war.

What methods do you use to elliminate acne?

• Acne Removal by IPL (pulsed light).
• Elimination using a chemical peel with salicylic acid.
• Central elimination with the help of a salicylic acid facial.
• Elimination and maintenance with medical-aesthetic products for home use.

What is the difference between the 4 methods?

1- Pulsing light (or light pulses / IPL) enables the re-tightening of pores and reduces residual acne scarring by stimulating the collagen and elastin in the skin. As the light is absorbed, the bacteria are destroyed. These intense pulses of light cause, by their heat, a restriction of the overproduction of the sebaceous glands responsible for acne, and decrease the growth of bacteria. This will also result in the destruction of those blood vessels that feed the sebaceous glands – reducing the sebum secretion, reducing the oil, and ultimately reducing acne.

2 - Chemical peels with salicylic acid help treat acne by exfoliating the skin and cleaning deep to remove impurities and bacteria that cause acne. The products used in our center have a concentration of 25%, compared to 2% for those sold in stores.

3 – Our clinical salicylic acid facial treatments allow for proper cleaning of the skin. Pimples are extracted using hand pressure. Highly concentrated alylicique acid-based products are applied, along with PH balanced creams. A home maintenance regimen is highly recommended.

4 - High performance medical-aesthetic products (containing salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide) for home use can be a good option to eliminate acne or for maintenance to prevent future occurrences.

A medical technician will inform you of the possibilities available to you.

What is the treatment for acne scars?

The chemical peel is a non-surgical medical-aesthetic treatment, which involves the application of an acid solution tailored to your skin type. The objective is to deeply exfoliate the skin, which has a “peeling” effect. There are different types of acids of varying concentrations. At our clinic, we focus on four types of small to medium acid solutions. We also use specific peels for rehydrating the skin, and treating acne and pigmentation spots. These are lower concentration, gentler, outpatient procedures with less peeling. We can use other treatment as well like radiofrequency and micro needling.

What results can I expect?

Smoother looking skin. Improved tone. Tightened pores. Brighter and even complexion. Reduced acne scars. Reduction of wrinkles and fine lines.

What is the cost of the treatment?

The price varies according to your needs, depending on which professionnal treatments is necessary for your case. All treatments are supervised by clinical nurse and doctors.
